JamWatch aggregates data from official checkpoint APIs, traffic sensors, and LTA camera feeds to provide the most accurate real-time picture possible.

Is the app really free?

Yes. JamWatch is completely free to use. No accounts, no subscriptions, and no intrusive ads. We believe border information should be accessible to everyone.

Does the iOS Widget update automatically?

Yes. The iOS Widget mirrors the app's live data and refreshes on WidgetKit's timeline schedule. For the very latest reading, open the app or pull to refresh — widgets update at regular intervals as determined by iOS.

Which languages does JamWatch support?

JamWatch supports English (EN), Chinese (中文), and Bahasa Melayu (BM). Change the language anytime from in-app Settings and the entire interface updates instantly.

Overview

JamWatch ("the App") is a mobile application that provides live border crossing time estimates between Singapore and Malaysia for the Woodlands Causeway and Tuas Second Link. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.

The App collects anonymous usage analytics to help improve the App. It does not collect any personal information such as your name, location, or account credentials.

Analytics Data We Collect

JamWatch uses PostHog (a third-party analytics service) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how users interact with the App. This data is used solely to understand usage patterns and improve the App.

What is collected

App interactions — Tapping the direction toggle, sharing a crossing, tapping a traffic camera image, pulling to refresh, tapping the rate button
Settings preferences — Selected language (English / Chinese / Malay), selected theme (dark / light)
Anonymous device identifier — A randomly generated UUID assigned to your device install — not linked to your identity
Device & app properties — Operating system, OS version, device model, app version, device locale, timezone, screen size
IP address — Transmitted as part of standard HTTP requests to PostHog's servers

What is NOT collected

Your name, email address, or any contact information
Your location or GPS data
Account credentials (there are no accounts)
Payment information
The content of what you share via the share sheet
Any information that identifies you personally

How this data is used

Analytics data is used to understand which features are used, how often the App is opened, and where users encounter errors — so the App can be improved over time. The data is not sold or shared with advertisers.

Information We Do Not Collect

JamWatch does not collect your name, email address, contact information, location or GPS data, advertising IDs (IDFA, GAID), account credentials, payment information, or any personally identifiable information.

How the App Works

JamWatch displays publicly available, real-time information.

Traffic Data

The App fetches live border crossing travel times from a backend API (api.jamwatchsg.com). This data is publicly available traffic information and does not involve any user data.

Weather Data

The App retrieves current weather forecasts for the Woodlands and Tuas regions to estimate travel buffer times.

Traffic Camera Images

The App displays live traffic camera images hosted on Cloudflare R2 storage (assets.jamwatchsg.com). These are publicly available images from traffic cameras at the border crossings.

Network Requests

When the App fetches data, your device's IP address is transmitted as part of the normal HTTP request process.

Auto-Refresh and Background Activity

The App automatically refreshes crossing data and traffic images every 2 minutes while the App is open and in use. This activity only occurs while the App is actively running in the foreground.

Share Functionality

JamWatch includes a share feature that lets you share crossing information using your device's built-in share sheet. We do not receive, store, or process any information about what you share or with whom.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect or store personal data on our servers. Anonymous analytics data is processed by PostHog and subject to their security practices.
